It's that time of year again: the time of year when people around the world open their wallets to give to causes that matter to them.

Tuesday is GivingTuesday, a global effort to encourage people to do just that, and in Lapeer County, Mich., one community foundation is doing just that.

The Lapeer County Community Foundation is holding an open house at its office in Lapeer on Tuesday, from 8am to 7pm, and is asking people to come by and "share stories of impact our donors have had across Lapeer County," reports MLive.

"Whether it's helping a neighbor or stranger, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving to causes meaningful to us, every act of generosity counts," says the foundation's executive director.
